Your questions, answered.
-
No. Female founders and women in leadership are a particular focus of our work because we understand many of the experiences and questions associated with female leadership and entrepreneurship. However, we work with leaders, teams and organisations of all genders.
-
No. Betwixt is based in Berlin and works throughout Germany and internationally. We offer consultancy in German, English and French. On-site work is available by arrangement, with travel expenses and travel time agreed transparently in advance.
-
We work particularly with founder- and owner-led businesses, small and medium-sized organisations, social enterprises and educational organisations. The sector matters less than whether our experience and approach are right for the situation.
-
You might contact us when responsibilities have become unclear, conflicts keep returning, too much responsibility rests with a small number of people, or existing structures no longer support the organisation’s growth. It is also worth speaking to us when you sense that something needs to change but cannot yet define the underlying issue.
-
No. Organisations often approach us initially because of a conflict, communication difficulty, leadership question or request for training. Part of our work is to establish what is actually happening and where change would be most useful.
-
An Organisational Assessment is often the most useful starting point when we do not yet know an organisation. It gives both sides a sound basis for deciding whether and how to work together. Where the scope is already clearly defined, a different starting point may be more appropriate.
-
We work with whichever parts of the organisation are relevant to the situation. This may include the founder or managing director, individual leaders, team members or the whole team. We do not view leadership and teams in isolation; we pay close attention to how they shape one another.
-
One lead consultant remains clearly responsible throughout the engagement. Depending on what the assignment requires, other consultants may contribute their particular expertise. We also draw on peer reflection within the Betwixt team where useful.
-
Both are possible. Leadership conversations, reflection sessions and follow-up meetings can take place online. For Organisational Assessments and certain team processes, however, direct insight into everyday working life is particularly valuable.
-
You receive a written assessment followed by a conversation about the findings. If continued collaboration would be useful, we develop a concrete proposal for the next steps and recommend the consultant (or combination of consultants) best suited to the work. There is no obligation to continue.
-
Our therapeutic training shapes how we understand relationships, responsibility, conflict and the dynamics between individuals and organisations. It enables us to recognise patterns that may remain hidden in conventional consultancy processes. Betwixt nevertheless provides organisational and leadership consultancy and not psychotherapy.

All conversations, observations and documents are treated confidentially. At the beginning of each engagement, we agree transparently what information may be shared, with whom and in what form.
